Does eating the first snow make you sick?

It doesn't matter when the snow falls, it's going to have about the same amount of pollutants in it. The extent to which snow is polluted depends heavily on your location. I wouldn't eat snow or drink rain, but I doubt it will make you sick.

Does eating snow make you dehydrated?

~Snow is just frozen water. Don't eat the yellow kind tho. Actually, snow has a 10 to 1 ratio with water. Therefore, if you melt down 10 inches of snow, you will only have about 1 inch of water once fully melted. When you eat snow, your body has to use an incredible amount of heat and energy to melt it and the benefits given by it are very small. It is best to melt it first and then drink it. Either that, or find ice to melt. Ice roughly has a 1 to 2 ratio with water, thus giving a much larger return on your time investment in melting.

Why do people wear snowshoes?
