Can you and or should you do anything about global warming?

"Can you" do anything? Yes you can. "Should you" do anything? Absolutely you should. Global Warming, as we know, means the world is heating up. Because of this, the polar ice caps are beginning to melt, and cause the ocean levels to rise, causing floods around the world, and more freak weather conditions to occur, destroying villages and towns, killing life in cities and clans worldwide, even insuring that uncharted small islands are never placed on the map. That's why we definitely "should" be doing something.

But what can we do?Here's what we are able to do.

Fancy going down to see your friend living a mile away? Cycle there. Don't get a lift there, or drive there yourself, get out your bicycle, get on your helmet, and use those leg muscles to cycle you there, and not put fossil fuels into the atmosphere.
Yes, people can do many things to reduce and even stop global warming. People can burn less coal and other objects that release dangerous fumes. The most important thing you can do is to recycle!

If you want to lower the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, you can do a few things:

1) Support nuclear power. It's clean, safe, cheap and effective. Don't let Japan fool you, nuclear power is extremely safe when it does not come from a 50 year-old power plant that was poorly-designed in the first place. It can generate massive amounts of carbon-free electricity much cheaper than coal.

2) Get energy efficient appliances that make financial sense. Do not go overboard seeking efficiency, as you will end up miserable with touchy appliances that don't work.

3) Only get an electric car if your power comes from nuclear, natural gas or some form of renewable energy. If you get power from coal, you are going to make things worse than if you just bought gasoline for a normal car.
