i think that the 2 main types of soil conservation are natural and man made. for example, a natural soil conservation technique is trees being planted along the line of loose gravel or soil. the tree's roots will hold the soil in place and help prevent erosion. a man made soil conservation technique is putting a concrete barrier along the edge of loose gravel or soil. the problem is not the fact that is holds the soil in place, but it is just as vunurable to weathering as the gravel is. overtime the barrier will weather away. the trees are able to heal themselves after weathering but the concrete, plastic, metal, or plaster barriers cannot repair themselves and require constant maintanance which will take both time and money. trees on the other hand need no maintanance and repair themselves therefore are alot cheaper and more affective then barriers.
