a drought is a lack of water. there is always the same amount of water in the universe but it appears in many various. a drought may be caused by a number of things. alot of times the rain that was supposed to fall or was needed more in a specific area is carried of to another place in the world. Most of the time it is the people being wasteful and the water that they wasted may take a while to return back to the environment. but ya duh thats what a drought is its a lack of water
