In reality no source of energy can be said as pollution free.

when hydro electricity is said as a cleaner source of energy it means that it is "cleaner" that some other source of energy. example: hydro electric power is cleaner that petroleum since burning of petroleum produces harmful gases but not in case of hydroelectricity

the pollution caused by hydroelectricity is the ecological imbalance . to produce hydro electricity dams are constructed. for construction the forest nearby is cleared and therefore causes soil erosions and other related problems. it causes ecological imbalance because when water from rivers are stored in dams it causes water shortage in rivers and affect marine organisms.

Do the non renewable resources cause pollution?

Biofuel, or biomass, is sometimes the burning of vegetation to produce energy. Burning, especially incomplete burning, can release smoke and other air borne particulates as pollution. The carbon dioxide released was only recently removed from the atmosphere (when the vegetation was growing) so it is not a pollution causing global warming. (This is why biomass and biofuel is counted as clean renewable energy.)

Can an electric car cause pollution?

Most of them use gasoline as well, which would cause pollution. Even if it is completely electric, that energy had to come from somewhere, Like a power plant that produces pollution to create electricity. If you run on only electric, and get your energy from a windmill or waterwheel then it wouldn't!

What effects does hydro energy have on the planet?

Hydro energy has positive effects on the planet as it is a renewable energy source that generates electricity without emitting greenhouse gases. However, the construction of dams for hydroelectric power can disrupt ecosystems, alter water flow, and displace communities. Overall, hydro energy is considered a relatively clean and sustainable energy source.

How does energy cause damage on Earth?

Energy can cause damage on Earth through processes like burning fossil fuels, leading to air pollution and climate change. Overconsumption of energy sources can also deplete natural resources and disrupt ecosystems, impacting biodiversity and disrupting natural balance. Additionally, the extraction and production of energy sources can lead to habitat destruction and pollution of land and water.

What makes geothermal energy green?

Geothermal energy is green because it doesn't cause pollution.
