The animals in forests are of various types. These could be herbivores, carnivores, micro-organisms, etc. These play an important role in maintaining the food chains.
(i) Micro-organisms convert the dead plants and animals to humus. This humus helps in returning the nutrients back to the soil. These are absorbed by plants.
(ii) The animals also help in dispersing the seeds of certain plants.
(iii) The decaying animal dung provides nutrients to various types of seedlings to grow.
All these activities of animals dwelling in the forest help it to grow and regenerate.
Approximately 80% of the world's land animals live in forests. Forests provide habitat, food, and protection for a wide variety of species, from insects and birds to mammals and reptiles. Deforestation and habitat loss are significant threats to the survival of many forest-dwelling animals.
Animals that live in the cloud forest include species such as the spectacled bear, quetzal bird, mountain gorilla, and Andean condor. These animals have adapted to the cooler, moist conditions of the cloud forest and are often found in the canopy or understory layers of the forest ecosystem.
Some of the cutest little forest animals include red pandas, chipmunks, and baby deer. These animals are adored for their fluffy fur, playful behavior, and innocent looks.
Rabbit, fox, squirrel, chipmunk, raccoon, opossum... Theres also birds, mice, voles, shrews, weasels, minks, skunks, frogs, owls, bats, snakes, moles, pine marten, and pygmy marmot. I cant think of any more than that though.
Animals such as deer, squirrels, and rabbits may feed on the leaves of common lime (Tilia europaea) trees in a deciduous forest. These animals are known to forage on the leaves and shoots of various tree species for nutrients and sustenance.
They are forest dwelling animals and if they live in the trees themselves the term applied is arboreal.
Monkeys. Sloths. Forest tree dwelling non bird animals.
There are a number of different animals that live on the forest floor. Some examples of ground dwelling animals include insects, snakes, and moles.
Forest dwelling animals will be forced out of their forest environment. Unless there are forests nearby, they are out in the open and more vulnerable to predators, and starvation. Also, deforestation on a large scale (the Amazon rain forest, etc) would drastically alter the climate if deforestation continues unchecked. If a forest is felled in small areas (as followed by the British Forestry Commission) and then replanted, the forest becomes more sustainable and less harmful to forest animals.

Usually ground dwelling animals store food in the spring and summer and they tap into that during the winter when the food runs out.If you are caring for one I'd check at a petstore and if they don't carry your needs you might try to ship some in from somewhere.

earthquakes are caused by plate tectonics and earthquakes destroy forests. volcanoes can erupt then also destroy forests and that destroys animals and their homes. forest animals can get affected by plate tectonics in other ways too.
