All sources of energy which combust carbon containing fuels (coal, oil, gas, wood, peat, alcohol, gasoline. diesel, biofuel, etc.) produce GHGs. Even the combustion of hydrogen in air instead of pure oxygen can create NOx compounds which are GHGs.

Nuclear, solar, wind, tide, geothermal, and hydro electrical energy is created without GHGs.

By-product of wind energy?

Wind energy is a very clean source of energy and there is no by product. It does not produce any harmful greenhouse gases. Wind power consumes no fuel.

What is the source of energy in the greenhouse effect?

The Sun is the source of energy. Heat from the sun radiates up from the surface of the earth and warms the greenhouse gases.

In an internal combustion engine what is used as a source of thermal energy?

combustion

What is an advantage of using uranium as an energy source?

- no air pollution - no greenhouse effects - no fossil fuel - the most important alternative source of energy - it is the energy of the future

Identify the source of thermal energy in an internal combustion engine?

In an internal combustion engine fuel is burned in a combustion chamber or cylinder inside the engine

Why do vehicles need gasoline?

The source of energy for the non-hybrid automobiles is petrol or gasoline. The gasoline feeds into the combustion engine where it is actually the combustion that supplies the energy.

What source of thermal energy does an internal combustion engine use?

burning fuel

What source of thermal energy does a car's engine use?

The combustion of gasoline or diesel fuel

What is the source of thermal energy in an internal combustion chamber?

The output of every internal combustion engine is usually thought of as kinetic energy, but as a byproduct, thermal energy also is expelled as a result of the combustion of hydrocarbons. The primary fuel source. Additionally, much kinetic energy is also lost as a result of friction thereby also creating a thermal energy. So although the sources of both seem different, there would be no friction without first there being kinetic energy as a result of the combustion of hydrocarbon and oxygen.

What energy source releases the least amount of greenhouse gasses?

Renewable energy releases the least amount of greenhouse gas per kilowatt. After renewables come nuclear which is greenest. It has other issues though.

What are the end product of fermentation?

Alcohol and carbon dioxide (yes, here is yet another source of greenhouse gases).
