They concentrated it from the ore gadolinite in which it was an impurity.
Rhenium was discovered in 1925 by German scientists Ida Noddack, Walter Noddack, and Otto Berg while they were studying a sample of platinum ore. They were able to isolate the new element and named it after the river Rhine in Germany.
rhenium wasn't mistaken by any other elements but was discovered in columbite and mdybdenite. it was discovered in 1914 by walter noddack, ida tacke, and otto berg.

Radium 1. Marie Curie, Pierre Curie and Gustave Bemont discovered radium in 1898. 2. Maria and Pierre Curie isolated radium chloride in Paris in 1902. 3. Marie Curie, Pierre Curie and Andre Louis Debierne prepared radium as a pure metal in 1910.
Technetium was discovered by Emilio Segre and Carlo Perrier in 1936 at the University of Palermo, Sicily, Italy. The discovery of Ida Tacke and Walter Noddack was not confirmed and admitted.
Ida Tacke was on the German team that thought they'd discovered the element technetium back in 1925. Their results could not be reproduced. It fell to Italians Carlo Perrier and Emilio Segrè, working at the University of Palermo in Sicily in 1937 to finally isolate and identify the synthetic element. It is of note that this metal was removed and concentrated from a material given to the two scientists by Ernest O. Lawrence. It was from irradiated shielding from a cyclotron that technetium was first recovered.
