Both are magnetic.
With an electromagnet, the magnetism can be turned on and off according to the whim or need of the operator.
Electromagnet
Move towards the U magnet so that the poles attach.
see if a magnet will stick to it someone who knows stuff about magnets please improve this answer. I myself do not know because a magnet will not stick to a very weak magnet but it is still magnetic. EDIT why would you answer if you don't know the answer? You stroke a bar magnet on the material and after a while it either becomes magnetic or not. unless its already magnetic which you would know straight away because it would stick to the bar magnet. sorry if any of my answer doesnt make much sense ... hope i helped someone
The known magnetism in a bar magnet is electromagnetism.
a bar magnet and a electromagnet are alike in many ways. the are alike because both of them are magnets. but there are plenty other ways they are alike
a electromagnet is bigger than a bar magnet
An electromagnet can be turned on and off.
I'm not sure where a bar magnet is used, but an electromagnet is used in junkyards, and in some laboratories.
The bar magnet and the electromagnet act identical. The difference being a electromagnet is a coil of wire that has a power source connect to both ends, this energizes the coil with an electromagnetic field.
It will pick up the nails the same way a bar magnet would do!
An electromagnet is temporary because the field disappears when the current is switched off.
bar
a bar magnet...
The comon bar magnet has two poles, and the electromagnet can be turned on and off also the electromagnet uses electricity to create a magnetic field in the first place. so the difference is normal magnet cant be turned on and off but the electromagnet can. does that answer ur question?
The electromagnet can be turned on and off depending on whether it's needed or not.
With an electromagnet, the magnetism can be turned on and off according to the whim or need of the operator.
