Hi
The problem with explaining humidity, is its relation ship to human life. Nobody is really interested until it affect them. The simplest way to describe relative humidity is at 100% the human body can not evaporate body sweat, and a person feels muggy. At 45% a person will feel the most comfortable. And to understand humidity the hotter the air, the more water it can contain. Humidifiers can help indoors to get an acceptable percentage, to make life comfortable.
I hope this helped.
Using a Hygrometer.
They both equal water vapor.
Neither.

humidity is moisture in the air and is measured with a hygrometer

Fog is basically visible water particles in the air. One of my sensors outside measured the humidity with the fog, I came out with 95% - 100%.

Relative Humidity is measured with a HygrometerHumidity is the amount of water vapor in the air.On hot days, when it feels sticky, the humidity would then be high.

The relative humidity (RH) in a kitchen can be measured by using a humidity gauge. A maximum indoor relative humidity of 55% RH may be acceptable, but a 50% RH better is better.

It is measured in terms of percentage of humidity. A device to measure humidity is called hygrometer. The relative humidity of air can be measured by dry and wet bulb method.

Relative Humidity is actually measure the amount of moisture in the air. It depends on how much of the air has water in it. Let's say that the RH is 50%, that means 50% of the air has water in it.
