Humans have definitely changed the balance in the Mono Lake ecosystem. Humans have hunted animals and fished here for example. They have also diverted the lake's tributary system, causing the volume of the lake to decrease and the salinity to increase. This caused the ecosystem to begin to collapse because the species could not adapt to the changes that occurred in a short period of time.
