ZnS + 2HCl --------> H2S + ZnCl2

In nature, when organic matter breaks down by bacteria in the absence of air, hydrogen sulphide is produced.

It can also be produced when an metal sulphide reacts with an acid.

For example -

FeS + 2HCl --------> FeCl2 + H2S

FeS + H2SO4 ----------> FeSO4 + H2S

Yes, you can make H2S by adding an acid (HCl, Acetic Acid, Battery Acid, even Vinegar, etc.) to Na2S. However, you need to be very careful when doing this. What most people don't know is that H2S gas is nearly as lethal as Cyanide gas (HCN). Just a whiff of 1000ppm H2S in air is enough to put you down and no longer breathing almost instantly. As little as 300ppm can kill you slowly, and you won't even realize it, because above 100-150ppm, it completely deadens your sense of smell... you no longer can sense that it is present.

The commercial method is , FeS + 2HCl ----> FeCl2 + H2S , but at home you can prepare this gas by adding Vinegar in yolk of an egg and then heating.

This will certainly work. However...

It may take a long time , but let eggs go rotten. The smell is hydrogen sulphide (H2S)
