When sunlight hits the earth some parts of it absorbs and some parts of it converts to heat waves that reflects. But CO2 does not permit the reflected wave to go out of the atmosphere and it's like a greenhouse so the earth get warmer.
Carbon Dioxide, or any element in the atmosphere that reflects heat from the earth will actually cool the planet. Remember, the heat that carbon dioxide reflects back to the earth came from the sun originally, or in other words outside of the atmosphere. carbon dioxide would actually reflect heat before it enters earth's atmosphere, and because there is more heat to reflect, (because none of it has been absorbed by earth yet) it would actually cool the earth. -I just saw Al Gore's presentation (An Inconvienent Truth), and thought about his reasoning, and this is the conclusion I logically came up with.
Earth's atmosphere is actually composed of about 0.038% carbon dioxide.
When fossil fuels are used, the release carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is trapped in the Earth's atmosphere and that causes the Earth to get hotter.
There is much more nitrogen in earth's atmosphere than carbon dioxide. Nitrogen forms about 79%, while carbon dioxide makes up about 0.04%.
Carbon dioxide can be a solid, liquid or gas. At standard temperature and pressure it is a gas.
The natural greenhouse effect (helped by carbon dioxide) keeps the earth warm. The enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect (from too much carbon dioxide) is causing global warming.
Plants use the process of photosynthesis to take in carbon dioxide and let out oxygen as a byproduct, so the taking in of carbon dioxide cool the environment. Carbon dioxide is a type of greenhouse gas, and it helps the earth hold in heat with more intensity. By taking in this carbon dioxide, it helps lower the temperature.
Sucks up the carbon doixide. Carbon dioxide is every animal's breath and heats up the atmosphere.
Carbon Dioxide do exist in universe in places other than Earth.
Yes. Solid carbon dioxide is "dry ice" which is very cold.
The carbon Dioxide levels in the Earth's atmosphere are rising.
This gas is carbon dioxide: 0,039 445 %.
they breath out oxygen for the humans and breath in carbon dioxide which helps the earth have less carbon dioxide
There is no insulating LAYER of Carbon Dioxide round the Earth. The Carbon Dioxide is mixed up with the Oxygen and Nitrogen in Earth's atmosphere and is not present in the atmosphere as a layer. If the absolute amount of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere increases, the Earth would get warmer.
carbon monixide, carbon dioxide, and plain carbon

In the atmosphere, in the form of carbon dioxide
