Acid rain effects water life really badly. Fish and plants in the oceans and lakes may end up dying because it is really hard of them to survive in acidic lakes. You can recognize a lake that died of acid rain when it has clean and crystal water. But the reason they look clean is because there are very little fishes and plants living in them. Most are unable to survive.

What does pollution in the air have to mix with to form acid rain?

Pollution in the air, such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, mixes with water vapor to form acid rain. When these pollutants in the atmosphere react with rainwater, they create acidic compounds like sulfuric acid and nitric acid, which then fall to the ground as acid rain.

What is the difference between acid rain and rain?

Acid rain is different to regular rain as it contains compounds of nitric oxide and other gases that have combined with water vapour in rain clouds to become acid rain...at least, i think so : )

One cause of acid rain is the burning of coal that contains a lot of?

Acid rain is a result of chemicals such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, often contained in coal, mixing and reacting with the oxygen, hydrogen, and water in the air resulting in acid such as sulfuric acid and nitric acids. The result is the acids dissolved in the rain drops. This acid rain can have corrosive effect on plant and animal life as well as man made art and structures. Carbon Water
