The Greenhouse effect

A non-renewable energy source, such as coal, contributes to Global Warming by releasing a greenhouse gas into the atmosphere, which traps the Sun's heat, like a Greenhouse. The Sun's heat can get in, but it has a harder time getting out when there are too many Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The emissions generated from the extraction and creation of energy (when the non renewable resource is converted into energy) emits greenhouse gases like CO2.

CO2 particles in the air warm the earth because the sun rays get trapped by these gases.

Plus the harvesting of these resources damages the ecosystems and biodiversity of the places where these are extracted.

Most energy we use comes from fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). This is used to drive transport and industry as well as generating electricity.

Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide that has been underground for millions of years, thus adding markedly to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

This increase in greenhouse gases is warming up the planet and causing global warming.

It can slow down global warming, but if we all use renewable energy, it will stop global warming in it's tracks, theoretically. Global warming is caused by the output of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels in transport and big factories put carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which is building up. We can stop that by using renewable energy, which should make the demand for nonrenewable energy go down, so factories will stop producing coal energy.

Without the sun earth would, of course, rapidly cool until the surface was a barren lump of ice. So the sun is an integral part of earth's climate.

How does the sun contribute to global warming? Solar satellites have measured a slight decline in the sun's output over the past thirty years. There is no reason to expect this decline will be permanent, theory suggests that over the course of the next billion years the sun should grow gradually hotter.

In terms of the immediate impact over the past century, and into the next few hundred years, variation in solar output is not expected to have any measurable effect on earth's climate. The differences in solar output remain extremely small, not considerably above our ability to detect.

And if you are asking how the collection of solar energy contributes to global warming, then it doesn't, after the manufacture of the solar panels. Solar energy is clean and green (non-polluting) as well as renewable, one of the energy sources of the future!

We end up using all of our resources. Water is renewable. Coal is not.

There are many people globally that rely heavily on non-renewable energy. This energy includes those that are created from oil for example.

Can thermal energy make global warming?

There are many kinds of thermal energy which probably wouldn't contribute too much to global warming because what CO2 does is it traps the sun's energy, and as you know the sun is REALLY hot.

How do power stations contribute to global warming?

Power stations do contribute to global warming, as the more electricity we use the more global warming will develop to the earth. And gradual the earth will be destroyed because of us humans.

Does humidity contribute to global warming?

Humidity does contribute to global warming, because water vapor is also a greenhouse gas, just as carbon dioxide it.
