If you are worried about the fact that this is a [2+2] cycloaddition, which you would expect to be forbidden, I would suggest (though this is out of my area) that the re-hybridisation of the phosphorus atom may be relevant, since the use of a d-orbital introduces an additional nodal plane.

The phosphorus cycle is the biogeochemical cycle that describes the movement of phosphorus through the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. Unlike many other biogeochemical cycles, the atmosphere does not play a significant role in the movement of phosphorus, because phosphorus and phosphorus-based compounds are usually solids at the typical ranges of temperature and pressure found on Earth :)

Are there any phosphorus supplements?

Yes. I think there's a wiki entry on Neutra-phos. Very expensive. There are cheaper ones out there at various vitamin websites [google 'phosphorus supplements'], but I don't know about their reliability. Dietary deficiencies are unusual, but there are rare cases of individuals whose livers do not properly store phosphorus. If you're one of those and suffer from the deficiency, it can involve painful muscle cramps and unpleasant chills. If you haven't had a diagnosed deficiency, there are a number of downsides to taking phosphorus, so it's a good idea to have your doctor test for a deficiency by having blood work done.

How do fertilizers work?

In addition to sunlight, CO2 and water, plants need certain elements in order to produce the compounds that they require to live. The most needed are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. There are a number of others. Fertilizers are an attempt to replace these elements into the soil so that plants can grow faster than they would if you waited for nature to replenish these things "normally" (mainly by decay). But if you add to much fertilizer then the plants can get "burned" and will lose productivity. Also Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium are macro nutrients.

Why do Russia and the Republics receive limited precipitation?

Primarily because of its continental location, far from a large body of water to provide moisture. Additionally, the closest ocean is the Arctic for much of this region, and the Arctic Ocean is frozen much of the year which removes it as a source of moisture. Therefore, the air masses that move through these regions have limited amounts of water to work with to produce clouds and precipitation.

What the process by which carbon circulates around the earth as plants remove carbon from the atmosphere and animals adds carbon to ther atmosphere?

The Carbon Cycle With decomposition and respiration being the two individual processes you named. The carbon cycle is very important for all organisms. Carbon Dioxide is all around us and most organisms continually recycle it through the ecosystem. Plants convert the Carbon Dioxide to glucose through photosynthesis. This provides energy for the plants. It moves through the food chain by consumption of the plants and provides energy for the different consumers. Animals recycle carbon dioxide through respiration. The lungs provide gas exchange and releases the carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere.Carbon Dioxide is also released into the atmosphere from industrial pollutants.

What are the major characteristics of the Arctic Tundra?

the major characteristics are the wonderful plant life and wildlife. From arctic foxes to its polar bears and wolves the artic tundra is beautiful! In the winter time the temp. gets up to 34 degrees celcius and in the summer the temp. gets up to 3-12 degrees celcius! talk about cold! 15-25cm of precipitation! :)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Once fall is over, the transition for winter is quick. Lakes and ponds freeze. Snowfall is only 25 - 30 cm per year. There are 3 months of darkness above Arctic Circle. Many mammals and birds migrate to the region during the summer. Arctic foxes and snowshoe hares change their fur color. For example : In the winter, arctic fox's fur would be white, same as the hare. In the winter, the fur would be brown.Source : Yahoo, My Pak Work, Google.-♥sally.

How does the carbon cycle work with the nitrogen cycle?

Both of them are different, so both cycles work together. The carbon cycle lets out carbon dioxide and it then transfers it into the trees. The trees get the nitrogen and the cycle starts again.
