Most of the world's energy, that is, electricity, basically, is generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). And transport and industry runs on oil. Burning fossil fuels releases extra carbon that has been stored away safely for millions of years. This carbon is not part of the normal carbon cycle. It is extra.

This carbon is released as a gas, carbon dioxide, which is an important greenhouse gas. The greenhouse effect is the way the sun's heat keeps our planet warm and allows life to exist. But this extra carbon dioxide is adding to the greenhouse gases and creating a runaway greenhouse effect, which is causing global warming.

So when we waste energy, when we leave lights burning in empty rooms, and run air conditioners when nobody is home, and leave our computers on all night, and turn off the TV with the remote instead of the wall switch, we are using more electricity than we need, and we are contributing to global warming.

But when we save energy, by using public transport, or turning the heating down and dressing more warmly, or drying our clothes with the sun and wind, we are doing our own small part in reducing the effect of global warming on the world.

Those global energy has to do with global warming?

Global energy consumption contributes to global warming by releasing greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. The burning of fossil fuels for energy production is a major source of these emissions, trapping heat and leading to an increase in the Earth's temperature. Transitioning to renewable energy sources and increasing energy efficiency are crucial steps in combating global warming.

Do meteors affect global warming?

No, meteors do not have a direct impact on global warming. Global warming is primarily driven by human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, leading to the trapping of heat. Meteors are natural occurrences and are not significant contributors to changes in the Earth's climate.

Does standby affect global warming?

Yes, leaving electronic devices on standby mode can contribute to global warming because they still consume energy when in this mode. This leads to increased greenhouse gas emissions from the power plants generating that electricity, contributing to global warming. It is recommended to unplug devices entirely when not in use to reduce energy consumption and combat climate change.

Does global warming affect intertidal zone?

Yes, global warming can impact intertidal zones by causing sea levels to rise, increasing ocean temperatures, and altering ecosystems. These changes can affect the distribution and abundance of intertidal species, as well as disrupt their interactions and overall biodiversity.

What to put on a pamphlet on global warming?

A pamphlet on global warming should include information on the causes of global warming (greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation), the effects (rising temperatures, melting ice caps), and what individuals can do to help (reduce energy consumption, support renewable energy). It should also highlight the importance of taking action to combat climate change to protect the environment and future generations.

What will be the problems if our community doesn't start using renewable energy?

That we will be simply wasting the energy without use and might contributing for global warming.

How might changes in solar energy affect earth's climate?

Does wasting energy cause global warming?

Wasting energy contributes to global warming, because greenhouse gases are emitted by the generation of that energy whether or not you use it wisely. Turn off appliances that are not in use; replace incandescent light globes by high efficiency ones, use the air conditioning less, or raise the temperature by one or two degrees in summer.

How does ocean pollution affect global warming?

Global warming does not really affect ocean pollution. However, ocean pollution is something that is effecting global warming. This is because the pollutants are what is causing the warming trend.
