Smoking and second hand smoke are indoor air pollution.

The burning of tobacco releases nicotine, particulates, carbon monoxide and sublimated tobacco tars into the air. In addition the chemicals added to the tobacco to regulate its burning rate and humidity (e.g. glycerine) are released by the heat of the burning tip. These can be re-breathed by others (non-smokers) or deposited on surfaces as a film.

Is cigarette smoke air pollution why?

Yes, cigarette smoke is considered a form of air pollution because it releases harmful chemicals and particulate matter into the air when it is emitted. These pollutants can have negative effects on human health and the environment.

How does smoke contribute to air pollution?

Smoke from burning fuels releases harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter into the air. These pollutants can cause respiratory problems, contribute to smog formation, and impact air quality in both urban and rural areas.

Who created air pollution?

Air pollution is created by human activities such as burning fossil fuels, transportation emissions, industrial processes, agriculture practices, and waste disposal. These activities release pollutants into the atmosphere, leading to a degradation of air quality and negative impacts on human health and the environment.

What pollution is caused by lightening?

Lightning itself does not cause pollution. However, lightning can ignite wildfires, which can release pollutants into the air such as smoke, particulate matter, and greenhouse gases. Additionally, lightning can also cause damage to infrastructure that may result in pollution if hazardous materials are released.

What causes Indoor air pollution?

Fire places, hair spray, carpet, smoking. All these cause indoor air pollution because the fire place releases smoke in your home. Hair spray has chemicals in it which means when you spray it all the chemicals get released into the air in your home. Carpets hold dust, pollen, etc. Smoking inside the house releases a lot of nasty smoke which can cause lung cancer.
