The sky isn't necessarily there, the blue factor of the sky is created when all of the Earth's water reflects off the sun, and bounces back to Earth. So the sky is kind of like a mirage: you can see it but its not really there. Therefor since it is not there, there is no distance from the Earth to the sky.

What color is Neptunes sky?

Neptune's sky appears blue in color, similar to Earth's sky. This blue hue is due to the scattering of sunlight by the methane gas in the planet's atmosphere.

Why does the sky appear dark instead of blue to an astronaut?

Because the sky is blue to us by the light being scattered through nitrogen. In space there is no nitrogen for the light to scatter through, therefore the sky around them seems black. Although, when in space if you look at the earth, you can see the blue sky, as there is nitrogen there.

The sky's blue color is caused by?

The sky's blue color is caused by Rayleigh scattering, in which shorter blue wavelengths are scattered more than longer wavelengths by molecules and particles in the Earth's atmosphere. This results in blue light being dispersed in all directions, giving the sky its blue appearance.

Why is the sky blue at daytime?

The sky appears blue during the day because of the way Earth's atmosphere scatters sunlight. Blue light from the sun is scattered in all directions by the gases and particles in the atmosphere, making the sky appear blue to us.

Why is the sky blue in a funny way?

The sky appears blue because of a phenomenon called Rayleigh scattering, where shorter blue wavelengths of light are scattered by the gases in the atmosphere. This scattering causes blue light to be more prevalent in our field of vision, giving the sky its blue color. It's not a funny process, but rather a scientific explanation for why the sky looks blue to us.
