Trees remove carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas, from the atmosphere and store the carbon in their trunks and branches. When deforestation happens and the trees are burnt or rot, that carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere, and because no more trees are planted, there is no longer anything to remove the CO2. This is how deforestation adds to the greenhouse effect.

What is the relationship between deforestation of the rainforest the greenhouse effect and global warming?

Deforestation of the rainforests destroyed trees that used to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. This allows CO2 levels to build up in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases cause the greenhouse effect, keeping the earth warm. Because of deforestation and man's burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, levels of CO2 in the air are rising, causing global warming.

What are the two types of greenhouse effect?

The natural greenhouse effect keeps the earth warm enough for life. The enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect (caused by burning fossil fuels and deforestation) leads to global warming and climate change.(There is also the very dangerous runaway greenhouse effect that happened on Venus.)

Is the greenhouse effect always a harmful result of human behavior?

No! The greenhouse effect is a natural effect that has kept the earth warm enough for life for millions of years. The enhanced greenhouse effect, which we have now, is the result of human behaviour, namely, deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases additional carbon dioxide. This greenhouse gas is building up in the atmosphere causing global warming.

What is the cause effect and solution of the greenhouse effect?

Normal greenhouse effect:The cause of the normal greenhouse effect is the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that capture the sun's heat as it radiates back out from the earth. The effect of the normal greenhouse effect is to keep the earth warm enough for life.We do not need a solution for the normal greenhouse effect because it is not a problem for us.Enhanced greenhouse effect:The cause of the enhanced greenhouse effect is the extra greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide and methane, that we have been adding to the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution, mostly by burning coal, oil and natural gas. Deforestation means that less carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere. The effect of the enhanced greenhouse effect is to make the atmosphere warmer, all over the world - global warming. The solution for the enhanced greenhouse effect is for the whole world to use renewable energy sources for industry, transport and electricity, so we can stop burning fossil fuels. If the world plants more forests the trees will remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. If we improve our agricultural practices we can reduce the amount of methane put into the atmosphere.

Which greenhouse gas is the result of deforestation?

Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that is released as a result of deforestation. When trees are cut down or burned, they release stored carbon into the atmosphere, contributing to the greenhouse effect and climate change.

What effects does deforestation have on the climate?

Deforestation is a contributor to global warming, and is often cited as one of the major causes of the enhanced greenhouse effect. Tropical deforestation is responsible for approximately 20% of world greenhouse gas emissions

The greenhouse effect is caused by the warming of?

The planet(s) through solar radiation and the retention of a small portion of this heat through atmospheric gases. The greenhouse effect is caused by the warming of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, mostly water vapor and carbon dioxide. This is a natural effect that has gone on for millions of years. The enhanced greenhouse effect, what we are experiencing now, is caused by the warming of the extra greenhouse gases that man is adding to the atmosphere, largely by burning fossil fuels, and by deforestation.

How are people adding to greenhouse gases?

By the oil we burn it releases carbons into the air adding to the greenhouse effect and global warming.

What effects can deforeststation have on the climate?

Primarily, deforestation release carbon into the atmosphere that becomes carbon dioxide. This is a greenhouse gas, and adding more of it to the atmosphere will tend to enhance the natural greenhouse effect. As a result, deforestation tends to contribute to the warming of the earth.

Does deforestoration increase the greenhouse effect?

Yes, deforestation increases the greenhouse effect because trees absorb carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) from the atmosphere. When trees are cut down or burned, this stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming and climate change.

did the greenhouse effect increase?

Yes. When we started burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) and cutting down the great forests of the worldd (deforestation), the normal greenhouse effect began to change into the accelerated, or enhanced greenhouse effect which we now have.

How would deforestation impact the global environment?

Forests and all vegetation remove carbon dioxide from the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Deforestation, cutting them down, means that the greenhouse effect is increasing. This is causing global warming and climate change.

What intensifies the greenhouse effect?

Adding additional greenhouse gases to the atmosphere intensifies the greenhouse effect. We are doing this by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), which releases carbon dioxide.

What human activity contributes to the greenhouse effect?

Deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

What will most likely increase the greenhouse effect?

Increased emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane from human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation.
