Land pollution is caused mainly by man. Land pollution occurs when waste is not taken care of properly. People used to be able to bury their garbage in their backyards which led to land pollution.

Pollution is caused almost solely by humans and population activities. Air pollution comes from factories and vehicles (cars, trucks, etc.) that put emissions of gases into the air. All animals release gases, like methane, which also pollutes the air. Many of these, like aerosols and CFC's (Chlorofluorocarbon) are greenhouse gases and harm the atmosphere, deplete the Ozone layer, and cause global warming. Water pollution is caused as homes, people, factories, and other areas leak waste or garbage into the water source, like a river or ocean mostly. It can also be as pollutants in the air condense within clouds, raining acid or polluted rain and thus polluting the water and ground, too. Land pollution comes from waste or garbage, or junk and litter.

Humans make things that are not natural, expending energy (fossil fuel energy) to do this. This means we produce waste and change the environment in which we live by mixing this waste into the environment. This and our mechanical changes to the environment (building cities, houses, roads and cutting down trees to make farms) harms and pollutes the environment.
