How long is a piece of string?

This is a very general question, especially with reference to hurricanes throughout the world. Typically, the USA usually experience minimal loss of lives but a large amount of damage to infrastructure, especially places like Florida, Mississippi and Louisana. Plenty of wealth and AID fro charities enable a speedy a quick recovery.

However, this is not the case for areas like the Caribbean who suffer similar hurricanes to the USA. They tend to see a lot more loss of life due to a poorer economy. They usually cannot afford efficient warning systems or protection schemes and lack planning in order to reduce the risk from hurricanes. This would make the aftermath devastating and the Caribbean would barely have time to recover before another hurricane hit. It is important to note that geographical location and distribution of wealth varies throughout the Caribbean so different areas would be affected differently.
