Which is stronger tornadoes or cyclones?

Why are tornadoes not named?

They are not named like tropical cyclones because there is very little warning. The reason tropical cyclones are named is so people can follow them as they develop and move along, making each system easy to keep track of. Tornadoes form very quickly and without warning, and it would not make sense to try to apply a name to them. Additionally, while there are usually no more than a dozen named tropical cyclones in a year, Over 1,000 tornadoes hit the U.S. each year, far to many to be named.

Is there going to be a cyclone this year?

Where in the world do cyclones occour?

A tropical cyclone usually happens in various parts of the Pacific Ocean and affects regions of Mexico, south-east Asia, north Australia and the south Pacific islands. In Australia cyclone season runs from November 1 to 30 April, but most cyclones happen between December and April. About 10 cyclones develop over the waters each year and six of these cross the coast.
