It turns out that phosphoru has 15 protons. All atoms of phosphoru have the same number of protons, and that's what makes them phosphorus. The phosphorus we recover to use has 16 neutrons. Naturally occuring phosphorus only comes in this one "flavor" with the 16 neutrons. There are phosphorus atoms with other neutron counts, but these are all synthetic, and have been made in the physics lab or created in other radioactive environments. Lastly, in the neutral atom of phosphorus, there will be 15 electrons - one for each proton. Note that phosphorus can engage in chemical reactions or in ionizing situations where it can borrow or lose electrons, and an investigator cannot be more specific except to say that phosphorus is reactive and isn't found free in nature. It is found in compounds where it has borrowed electrons. Wikipedia has some good information on this interesting element, and a link is provided.

How many protons and electrons does phosphorus have?

PHOSPHORUS (P): Protons: 15 Electrons: 15 Neutrons: 16

How many protons electrons and neutrons are in P?

The phosphorus atom has 15 protons and electrons and 16 neutrons.

How many protons neutrons and electrons does phosphorus have?

Protons and Electrons= 15 Neutrons=16 *The isotope 31P is the only naturally occurring form of phosphorus. Forms with 17 or 18 neutrons have been synthesized, and are unstable radioisotopes.

How many protons neutrons and electrons are in phosphrous?

The atomic number of phosphorus is 15. Thus, neutral phosphorus will have 15 protons and 15 electrons. The only stable isotope of phosphorus is 31P, meaning it has 31 - 15 = 16 neutrons.

How many protons are in one atom phosphorus?

15 protons. Also usually 15 electrons and 15 neutrons.

How many protons and electrons are in phosphorus?

15 electrons and 15 protons

How many protons neutrons and electrons are found in phosphorous?

Phosphorus has an atomic no. of 15 and its atomic mass is 31.=we know,atomic no.=number of protons==also, atomic mass=no.of protons+no. of neutrons==this implies, 31=15+no. of neutrons= 31-15=no. of neutrons= 16=no. of neutrons==also,no. of protons=no, of electrons=so, total no. of protons=15total no. of electrons=15total no. of neutrons=16

How many protons neutrons and electrons in 40 Ar?

18 protons 18 electrons 22 neutrons

How many protons electrons and neutrons does phosphorus haveand how does it look?

Phosporus is a p block element too. AN ATOM HAS 15PROTONS AND NEUTRONS.

How many protons electrons and nue trons does Phosphorus have?

The most stable isotope of phosphorus is phosphorus-31. The atomic number of phosphorus is 15, so it has 15 protons. In a neutral atom, there will also be 15 electrons. The number of neutrons is mass number minus atomic number, which is 31-15, so the number of neutrons is 16.

How many protons neutrons and electrons are in Ar?

18 protons and electrons and 22 neutrons.

How many protons neutrons and electrons are present in one atom phosphorus?

There are 15 protons and 16 neutrons in the phosphorus atom. The atomic number, which is at the top of the square, represent the number of protons. In a neutral atom, there are the same amount of protons as well as electrons so there are 15 protons and 12 electrons. You can find the number of neutrons by subtracting the atomic number from the atomic mass and round to the nearest whole number. In this case, the atomic number would be 15 and the atomic mass is 31. 31 minus 15 is 16 neutrons total.
