∙ 14y agoA person cannot see the sky beyond the horizon. The sky that is visible may be completely clear of clouds, or may have more and more until no blue sky can be seen.
For meteorological purposes, the visible sky is dived into eighths, or "octas";. One should describe cloud cover as being "so many octas", the range being from zero to eight octas.
