Forests make an important carbon sink that prevents carbon dioxide from being introduced into our air. If the trees are burned, this becomes an issue. If the trees are used for building homes these homes become a heat sink. If the trees are burnt, CO2 is released into the atmosphere and if you believe in the concept that CO2 is a driver of global warming, then you would believe that deforestation would be a contributor to the issue. If you look at the data and see that CO@ has never caused temp change but followed it, then you may conclude that forests being cut down have no effect.

What should be noted is that forests are NOT a primary source for absorbing CO2. Most CO2 is absorbed by our Oceans. While forests do absorb CO2, they also release large quantities of the gas. Forests are also a primary source of methane through the animals living inside these forests. The issue of forests is that of a natural balance. They produce no un-natural levels of any gas and do store carbon.

Why does global warming decrease temperatures?

True global warming does not decrease temperatures. So, either the model for global warming's effects is hokus-pokus, or global warming as presently claimed, does not exist. Some global warming followers will have you believe that global warming makes the weather "act crazy". If true, then it is not really global warming, is it.

How does global warming contribute to the occurrence of deforestation?

Global warming contributes to deforestation by altering weather patterns, leading to more frequent and severe droughts, wildfires, and insect infestations. These environmental changes weaken forests, making them more vulnerable to destruction and degradation.

What does mitigate global warming mean?

Mitigate means to soften or make easier, so with global warming it means to reduce it. The way, of course, to reduce global warming is to plant billions of trees and to stop burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

What is climate change global warming causing?

"Climate Change" and "Global Warming" are not the same, though related. Global Warming causes Climate Change. With Global Warming we understand the warming of the earth's global temperature. That warming has in turn an effect on the earth's global climate and on more localized climates (like the climate of England or Western US).

Global warming and climate change did you start it?

It is a valid theory that humans started global warming through the expansion of concrete surfaces, cutting down of forests, eradication of wetlands, the use of fossil fuels, and automobiles which pump out global warming gases have all contributed to global warming and climate change.

Why Save your Forests?

We have to save our forests because its the Earths Lungs. If we cut them down Global Warming will kick in. We have to save our forests because its the Earths Lungs. If we cut them down Global Warming will kick in.

Do rain forests affect global warming?

Yes, rain forests play a crucial role in mitigating global warming. They act as carbon sinks, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. Deforestation and degradation of rain forests contribute to global warming by releasing stored carbon and reducing the forest's ability to absorb CO2.

What are the global problems of clearing forests and increased gas emissions from factories and motor vehicles?

The main global problems of clearing forests and increased gas emissions are global warming and acid rain. The clearing of forests means additional carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, causing global warming. Increased gas emissions also contribute to global warming and acid rain.

If we wern't here would global warming happen?

No. Global warming is caused by man burning fossil fuels and cutting down forests. No other animal does that. If there were no humans on earth, there would be no global warming.

What are the R's related to global warming?

There are 3 R's of global warming. These are Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Do forests prevent global warming?

Yes, to some extent, because forests sequester carbon so that it does not enter the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. The widespread deforestation of recent decades has been a small but significant contributor to global warming.

How does the function of ozone related to flooding?

Ozone depletion causes global warming. Global warming causes floods.
