nt elbrus was formed by i dont know
Mount Townsend was formed through a combination of volcanic activity and the uplifting of sedimentary rock layers. It is part of the Olympic Mountains, which formed as a result of the Juan de Fuca tectonic plate subducting beneath the North American plate, causing volcanic eruptions and the uplift of rocks.
Minerals typically mined from Mount Elbrus include sulfides such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, and bornite. Additionally, minerals like quartz, calcite, and barite are also commonly found in the region.
Mt Etna is higher than Ben Nevis because it is a volcanic mountain formed through multiple eruptions over time, whereas Ben Nevis is a non-volcanic mountain that has been shaped by glacial activity. Additionally, Mt Etna is located at a tectonic plate boundary where magma reaches the surface, allowing it to rise higher than Ben Nevis.
There is an excellent discussion of the formation of Tibet and Mt. Everest on this page: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/everest/earth/birth.html It was formed from the uplifting of the earth as the Indian and Asian plates collided. I suppose you could see some of the difference between volcanic vs uplifting formation of mountains if you compared the Cascade Range to the Rocky Mountain Range in the USA. The Cascades are primarily formed of volcanic mountains including the giant cauldron of Crater Lake and the very active Mt. St. Helens. You will see very course volcanic lava and large volcanic ash deposits. Comparing those mountains to the Rocky Mountain Range which is primarily formed of granite, formed by an uplifting process.
Mount Everest is not created by either convergent or divergent plate movements. It is actually formed as a result of the Indian Plate converging with the Eurasian Plate, causing the crust to crumple and uplift, forming the Himalayan mountain range.
