How will Global warming affect Canada?

Global warming is happening all over the world. Some places will be drier than before. Other places will be wetter than before. Warming causes weather, so more warming is certainly going to affect the weather.

Low lying countries and Coastlines and cities will be in danger from rising sea levels. Warming oceans expand, and this is causing the rise firstly. Melting glaciers and ice caps are a secondary reason.

Places in Canada too cold for agriculture may be able to be farmed, but much of the present croplands may have to adapt or be abandoned if global warming continues.

Like all industrialized countries, they're not doing much yet. The real solution to global warming is in the hands of the consumers themselves. Until consumers of all products decide to consume less and actually live the three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle), governments are caught in the middle of the needs of industry to produce and the need to reduce the human impact on the environment. Which is most compelling for governments right now? Right now they are just taking baby steps. Global warming means more temperature extremes and also more extreme weather events. New South Wales has only just come out of a particularly serious drought, straight into a period of one serious flood after another. While this unusual sequence of events can not be proven to be linked to global warming, it is certainly consistent with scientific predictions. Similarly, rising sea levels and higher storm surges have been predicted to cause coastal erosion, and NSW has indeed suffered some serious coastal erosion in recent times.

Climate scientists say that within fifity years the climate in places like Dubbo could be similar to that Alice Springs, while Sydney's weather could resemble the present climate of Brisbane.
