∙ 13y agoAtomic number depends on the number of protons and it doesn't matter how many neutrons there are in that case. Neutrons only contribute to the atomic weight. The atomic number is the same as any other atom of carbon: 6.

∙ 13y agoThe atomic number is the number of protons that are in that atom. So if the atomic number is 12 then there are 12 protons in that atom's nucleus.
atomic number is always equal to number of protons. Thus, the atomic number of the element is 12.
12The atomic number of Mg is 12. This means it has 12 protons in the nuclei of its atoms. In a neutral atom, the number of electrons equals the number of protons.12
The atomic number of an atom is equivalent to the number of protons in its nucleus.
mass no - atomic no = number of neutrons in an atom.
it is 12
Its atomic number is 11 and its mass is 22.99. This atom is a sodium atom.
12
The atomic number is 14 - silicon.
atomic number is always equal to number of protons. Thus, the atomic number of the element is 12.
The atomic number of magnesium is 12. The atomic number is equivalent to the number of protons and electrons in the atom.
12
12 protons
Number of neutrons = Mass number - Atomic number = 22 - 12 = 10
It will have 12 electrons.
Atomic number of an atom shows the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom. OR Atomic number of an atom is the number of electrons in the atom when the atom neutrally charged
Atomic number: 11 Mass number: 23 (11 protons + 12 neutrons) Atomic mass (aka atomic weight): 22.98976928 Element: Sodium (sodium-23 is the only stable sodium isotope)
The Atomic Number of an element is equal to the number of Protons/Electrons in the nucleus and the Atomic Weight is approximately the total number of Protons/Electrons and Neutrons combined. Using Carbon as an example: Total Protons/Electrons = 6, therefore the Atomic Number is 6 Total Neutrons = 6, and the Atomic Weight is 12 Question? The Atomic Number of Lithium = 3 The Atomic Weight of Lithium = 7 How many Protons/Electrons? How many Neutrons? Answer: Protons/Electrons = 3 Neutrons = 4
