Granite has a coarse crystalline texture unless smoothed by weathering and erosion, or by humans.
Various "forms" of polishing produce different levels of smoothness, but as it originates out of the quarry I'll guess that it is at least somewhat rough.
Its a bit of both but I think it's hard
Granite and diorite are both phaneritic, or course grained, rocks. Granite is smooth and has a smooth appearance. Diorite has a salt and pepper type of appearance.
Granite feels smooth and its color is black and brown. Really hard In it's natural state, it can be smooth if a stream runs over it, but it is often rough and flecked with mica, quartz, and feldspar. It's color is primarily gray with black spots, and, seen from a great distance, can appear to be snow.
that would be granite.

Depends on the surface, sandpaper usually.
Granite counter tops are usually sanded and polished to create a smooth surface. A design element that is used sometimes is to keep the edges of a granite counter top rough or unpolished and unsanded to give a more natural look.
The difference between flamed and polished granite is following : Flamed : The Flaming is a type of finishing to change the surface of granite by burning it by flames. This procedure change the surface in some type of rough finishing. Polished : The polishing is a finishing to change the rough surface to smooth and glossy finishing. This process is done by polisher.
Rough with the Smooth was created in 1995.
The difference between rough and smooth is the texture. Rough things have a bumpy, abrasive texture. Smooth things have are not rough.

A lot depends if any weight is going to be suspended on the glue. -If not, I would use a construction adhesive like PL200.
glaciers can be smooth and rough depends on how their formed
