Most types of Iron are magnetic, however depending on its composition and purity, there are kinds that are not magnetic. For example, Steel is mostly Iron, Carbon, and a few other lesser materials, and can be magnetic. Pure Iron is of course magnetic. The iron in your blood, however, is not the magnetic variety. It all depends on the composition.

Carbon is more reactive then iron because iron can rust and carbon don't rust as easly.

I hate to tell you, but that above answer is very wrong. Carbon is pretty unreactive (however it DOES react) and Iron is moderatly reactive. Rust is a by-productive of iron and oxygen, a chemical reaction.

No, iron is not considered to be very reactive compared to other elements. Other elements like carbon, copper, and sodium are more reactive.

There are two types of iron: magnetic and non-magnetic iron. The iron in your body is the non-magnetic kind.

Is silver magnetic or a non magnetic?

Of course not. Fe (iron) and steel are attracted to magnets. Silver is not

Is a soil magnetic material or a non magnetic material?

it generally depends on the soil content~if it is rich in iron or some other magnetic metals it will magnetize but if it don't it won't..soil is non-magnetic but iron filings in it are magnetic

What is the name of something that is not magnetic?

Try "non-magnetic". Also, since most magnetic materials contain Iron, then any non-ferrous metals are non-magnetic.

Is lead magnetic or non magnetic?

No, iron, cobalt, and nickel are the only known magnetic substance.

What are magnetic and non-magnetic?

Iron, steel, cobalt and nickel are magnetic , others are not .Basics man.

Are all metals magnetic and non metals are non magnetic?

Only actually 3 metals are magnetic, Iron, Nickel, and Cobalt, so not all metals have a magnetic quality

Why isn't rusted iron as attracted to a magnet as non rusted iron?

Iron oxide (rust) Isn't magnetic. So rusted iron will have less pure iron in it. making it less magnetic.

Is Calcium magnetic or non-magnetic?

no. calcium itself is not magnetic, but if it is mixed with other elements (iron, etc.) then it will be. :) hope i helped!

How do you separate magnetic and nonmagnetic particles?

A non-magnetized piece of iron would capture the magnetic particles.

Things that are non magnetic and magnetic?

Magnetic materials: -steel -iron -nickel -cobalt Non-magnetic materials: -aluminum -copper -zinc -gold -silver -wood -plastic -glass Note: Not all forms of Iron are magnetic.

What are magnetic and non - magnetic materials?

MAGNETIC: Magnatite, Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, Manganese, Chromium. NON MAGNETIC: hydrogen, water, steel, graphite, diamond, silicon, carbon dioxide, methane, ethane, propane, and almost any other substance you can think of
