no. but it is possible to slow wind speeds slightly. in greensburg they are planting trees around the entire town to slow the wind if a tornado hits them again. the only problem is if the tornado picks it up then u have giant trees coming straight at u.
it is not fully under stood but they get lots smaller and some how stop.
No. Once a tornado forms it can pass over hills without being affected.
No. Contrary to popular belief hills do not stop tornadoes. In some cases they may even be harmful: if a tornado is approaching from behind a hill, you might not see it coming.
Nowhere is safe from tornadoes. Tornadoes can climb mountains. There was a tornado on 12,000 foot mountain once. here's a good site to look at: http://www.nssl.noaa.gov/edu/safety/tornadoguide.html
It is not fully understood about how exactly tornadoes form, grow and die. Tornado researchers are still trying to solve the tornado puzzle, but for every piece that seems to fit they often uncover new pieces that need to be studied. However, current knowledge indicates that a tornado usually dissipates when cold air undercuts the updraft of the tornado's parent thunderstorm. This causes the updraft to weaken until it can no longer support a tornado.
None. There is nothing that humans can do to stop tornadoes.
Nothing. Tornadoes are beyond our control; we cannot stop them. We can only prepare for them.
Unfortunately, there is nothing that anybody can do to stop tornadoes. They are a force of nature and are entirely beyond our control.
Nothing. It is impossible to stop tornadoes. We can only warn people and help them prepare.
We cannot stop tornadoes from occurring or from striking communities. It may be possible to reduce the damage done, however, by building structures to standards that allow them to withstand powerful winds. Even then, few structures can survive the strongest tornadoes.
No. The idea that hills stop tornadoes is a myth.
Nothing. There is nothing people can do to stop tornadoes.
