People that believe in global warming?

No i do not believe in global warming. for instance the polar ice caps are melting. wrong. the polar ice caps are expanding. and I'll tell you why. the ice caps have a core like the earth does. as of this moment in time the core is expanding causing the outer layers of the ice caps to break apart, not melt. that is also causing the polar bears to die or either move farther south into Canada and bordering countries. that is why you see grass in all of the news media pictures. it is not in the arctic. the only reason why you only hear one side of the case is because of the big media goers. you don't listen to a nobady you listen to a somebody, like Al Gore. this case of global warming is false.

A:Yes, I believe in Global Warming. I believe that the InterGovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is examining studies and data from all over the world, and I believe them when they say that global warming is happening. I believe them when they say it is extremely likely that global warming is being caused by man's burning of fossil fuels and cutting down the forests of the world. I believe the National Science Academies of so many countries who have spoken up and supported the work of the IPCC.

I have studied the earth's natural carbon cycle and the natural greenhouse effect, which has kept the earth warm for millions of years. I understand that by burning fossil fuels we are releasing carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas, that has been hidden away underground for millions of years. I believe the studies that show that CO2 has recently increased in the atmosphere from 270 ppm (parts per million) to the present 394 ppm, and that this is too much for the carbon cycle to cope with. I understand that this is what is causing the accelerated greenhouse effect that is causing global warming.

There is a wide variety of people who disagree with global warming based on various areas of thought:

• A: Those that disagree with the findings outright (the data is wrong)
• B: Those that disagree with the impact of said findings (the data is good but the conclusions are not)
• C: Those that disagree with the idea that climate has a norm (change is the norm so this is not news)
• D: Those that don't care about the potential impact (if we burn we burn)
• E: Those that dispute the impact of man on global warming
• F: Those with a vested interest against global warming policy

Especially with E there is a vocal dissent on how much of an impact we have. With B the most vocal component at this time is the impact of other factors (sun spots for instance. What is abnormal versus normal which ties into C) F is a given on any topic. When looking at A,B,C,D collectively the undercurrent of the debate is how robust the ecology of Earth is and how responsive to change the planet is. Depending on how fragile you feel the Earth's biosphere is can greatly influence one's opinion on global warming as a concept.

Many people don't believe in global warming because they want do believe that all this weird weather stuff happening is not their fault and they don't want to do anything about it.

It is a tradition of sorts that some people refute science. A number of people believed and still believe that:

• Smoking does not cause cancer
• AIDS is a disease of homosexuals and drug users alone
• The world was created just 6000 years ago
• Race is important in determining intelligence
