Well black people are black, just like the box. Sometimes black people get hot cause they're in pro sports and they're good at them. So I'd say painting the box black will make it hotter, proven in my statement above.

Why are alcohol thermometers not used for measuring high temperature?

The alcohol is volatile, and gas pressure will increase in the space above the liquid, making readings inaccurate (and threatening the integrity of the glass tube). Above about 78 °C (172 °F), ethanol-based thermometer liquids will boil, so these thermometers should not be used.

How will painting a wooden box black affect temperature readings on the box?

The colour it's painted will affect what frequency of light the box absorbs, painting it purple would mean it reflects the purple light and therefore will have to subside the protons delivered by the light.

Which temperature site is considered most accurate?

Rectal thermometers are still considered by many medical professionals to be the gold standard for babies and children. However, oral and forehead readings are also typically very reliable in these age groups.

What factors produce such temperature readings in North America such as air pressure or air masses?

There are eleven factors that affect air temperature readings. They are latitude, altitude, season, distribution of land and water, topography, ocean currents, winds, clouds and rains, color of the soil, and slope of the soil.

How does a psychrometer measure relative humidity?

A sling psychrometer (or hygrometer) uses the difference in readings between a wet bulb thermometer and another with a dry bulb to measure the relative humidity. The bulb that is wet will cool by evaporation to the "dew point", which is the temperature at which the current humidity would be the maximum possible. Comparing that to the dry bulb (the general air temperature) on a comparative chart will yield the approximate relative humidity.

At what temperature are the readings on both Fahrenheit and Celsius thermometers exactly the same?

0 degrees

What are the two temperature scales in general and when they are in use?

1. Celsius and Kelvin scale are used for all low & high temperature readings. 2.Fahrenheit is mostly used for low temperatures in clinical thermometers or a little lower or higher temperature readings

At what temperatures will the readings on the Fahrenheit and Celsius thermometers be the same?

At -40 degrees.

What are some advantages of using mercury thermometers?

mercury has better thermoconductiity and they have a greater range of readings

What are advantage of the clinic?

Clinical thermometers, also known as medical thermometers, are used for measuring human body temperature. They have kinks at one end which prevent the fluid from flowing back before the readings have been taken. They offer accurate and easy-to-read recordings, in addition they are easy to clean, to carry around and to store.
