yes, early navigators drew a map that was flat and so people though the world was flat but then we had a astronaut go up in space and he found out that our planet is a sphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
... because they thought they were the most important in the universe and the only things in the universe so they thought they were in they centre.
If you watch the motions of the sun, the moon, the planets, and the stars, they appear to revolve around Earth. It took some time for scholars to realize that this was due to Earth rotating. Additionally, Western culture was dominated by Christian ideology for more than a millennium. This ideology taught that humans were the focus of God's creation, and thus it made sense to place Earth at the center.
People think the Earth is round because of evidence from scientific experiments, observations, and calculations that point to its spherical shape. Additionally, images from space missions and satellites show the Earth as a globe.
i think its Hydrogen because that's the main component of the composition of earth and i think 70% or 90% (i am not sure as to which one)of the universe is made up of hydrogen. :)
Some people may believe the Earth is square due to misinterpretation of ancient beliefs or satire. However, scientific evidence and observations from space clearly show that the Earth is an oblate spheroid, not a square.
the earth
Before the heliocentric model of the solar system, people believed that the Earth was at the center of the universe. This geocentric model was commonly accepted in ancient times and throughout the Middle Ages.
it is earth
because they're dumb because they see and think that all thing around them move while they were fixed.
Because we could not exist without both of them
... because they thought they were the most important in the universe and the only things in the universe so they thought they were in they centre.
some people think god made the universe, but i personally think he didn't even make earth. I think Gaia made earth but we're getting off subject. People believe in ancient times a dragon called Godith, bigger than anything created the world with one single breathe. then, with small breathes, she added creatures, people, ect.
no because scientists think that earth is the only planet in the universe that supports life :3
You're thinking of Galileo; however, the fact that he had to deny, or "abjure," was that the Earth orbited the Sun instead of the other way around. People probably did think of the Earth as the center of the universe, however, the concept of "universe" was nothing like what it is today. Even the term used, "cosmos," meant both "universe" and "world."
Currently, we don't know. So far we have never found any direct evidence of life beyond Earth. But, given the incomprehensibly large number of planets in the universe, many people think there probably is life elsewhere.
that the earth was in the middle of the universe
They thought the universe was a great creation by God.
