radiation received from the sunThe major sources of energy are fossil fuels, three major fossil fuels are coal, natural gas, and oil, nuclear fission, hydroelectric power, solar energy, wind energy from turbines, biomass fuels, and the scientists are currently on working on hydrogen power, but we don't use it because we use more fuels to make it then burn it, although there may be more source of energy just like earths interior and many more i just share what I know, that can help u to more understand it.

How latent heat is an important source of atmospheric energy?

In the atmosphere latent heat is a property of water vapour. When water vapour condenses it releases latent heat, and latent heat must be supplied to evaporate liquid water. This heat affects the behaviour of the weather. Similar effects occur in the change from liquid water to ice and vice versa.
