Tectonic Plates
plates
What is the name of the Earth layer above which tectonic plates move? How hot is this layer beneath
the plates?
They move because of the heat from the outer core and the mantle.
It is called the asthenosphere, the layer of hot, ductile rock directly below the lithosphere.
Tectonic convergence, or something like that.
It's called 'plate tectonics' - and explains that the Earth's crust is composed of large pieces (or plates) that 'glide' over the molten mantle beneath.
the tectonic plates lol
The earths crust
They move because of the heat from the outer core and the mantle.
Because it has been proven that the outer layer is made of liquid and secondary waves do not move through liquid ^~^
Through condensation and evaporation.

the material is hotter & denser
They are called earthquakes.
Plate tectonics.
The tectonic plates which form Earth's crust move on top of the outer layer of the mantle. This layer of the mantle is known as the asthenosphere.
It is called the asthenosphere, the layer of hot, ductile rock directly below the lithosphere.
The outer layer of the earth's surface is made of plates. These plates are pushed by new land that is formed at rifts in the middle of the ocean where the surface is very thin. Lava squeezes up and out to the side from these rifts.
