OBJECTIVE

For determination of the aggregate impact value of coarse aggregate, which passes 12.5 mm. IS sieve and retained on 10 mm. IS sieve.

  1. Aggregate impact value test gives an indication of aggregate’s toughness property (i.e. property of a material to resist impact)
  2. Aggregate impact values are used to classify the stone aggregates with respect to toughness property as given below.
  3. The test equipment and the test procedure are quite simple and it determines the resistance to impact of stone aggregates simulating field condition.
  4. This test can be performed even at construction site or at stone quary, as the apparatus is simple and portable.
  5. Aggregate impact value test also gives an indirect indication of the strength characteristics of aggregate.
  6. Aggregate impact value of a sample also depends on the shape factors such as flakiness index and elongation index of the aggregates.
  7. It has been found that for majority of aggregates, the aggregate crushing value and aggregate impact values are numerically similar within close limits.
  8. For deciding the suitability of soft aggregates in base course construction, aggregate impact test is commonly used.
  9. A modified impact test is also often carried out in the case of soft aggregates to find the wet impact value after soaking the test sample in water.
  10. Maximum allowable aggregate impact value of aggregate in different types of pavement material / layers.

What was caused by called debris from asteroid impact on dry soil and rock?

Debris from an asteroid impact on dry soil and rock can cause a crater to form, as the impact can displace and eject material outward. The debris can also create shock waves that fracture and shatter the surrounding rock, leading to the formation of impact melt rocks. Additionally, the impact debris can spread out as ejecta, creating a layer of material around the impact site.

What is cohesion value of sand?

The cohesion value of sand typically ranges from very low to zero. Sand particles do not stick to each other and do not possess cohesive forces. This lack of cohesion is what allows sand to flow and easily be shifted or moved.

Is it a better value to buy gravel wet or dry?

It is typically better to buy gravel dry because you are paying for the weight of the water in the gravel when purchasing it wet, which can increase the cost. Additionally, wet gravel can be heavier and harder to transport.

What was caused by Falling debris from asteroid impact on dry soil and rock?

Falling debris from an asteroid impact on dry soil and rock can cause significant environmental damage, including the creation of large craters, widespread fires due to the heat generated upon impact, and the release of dust and debris into the atmosphere, leading to potential changes in climate and air quality.

How do you record a slump test result?

The slump test gives fairly good consistent results for a plastic-mix. This test is not sensitive for a stiff-mix. In case of dry-mix, no variation can be detected between mixesof different workability. In the case of rich mixes, the value is often satisfactory, their slump being sensitive to variations in workability.

Which is better wet steam or dry steam?

If by dry steam you mean superheated steam then dry steam because it has a higher calorific value
