You don't see thunder. You hear thunder. You hear thunder after seeing the lightning because light travels faster than sound. The further the storm away is, the bigger the time between when you see the lightning and hear the thunder.
There does not appear to be an official collective term for a group of clouds. Some people call them a group of clouds. Others just use "a group of" and the type of cloud they see like cirrus clouds or cumulonimbus clouds.
Thunder is always heard after lightning flashes. The sounds from thunder can be heard from miles away, but you can see lightning and NOT hear thunder. Never the other way around.

For groups of people or things, no. You can see, hear and touch a group or groups. But you can't do those things to love, happiness, bravery. The abstract noun would be grouping, or arrangement.

It would be a struggle for most of this people who couldn't see or hear... but for most of them it could be easy....
It depends on you, and on what sort of learner you are. Some people remember more of what they see, and others what they hear or write down.
