What causes environmental obsolescence?

This is mainly due to the mindset of the people. People take things like petroleum, electricity, plastic bottles and air-conditioning, just to name a few, for granted. They use it without any care for the environment. They do not know that these contribute to the rising temperatures and sea levels on Earth, mainly because they might not be experiencing it. They think that it does not affect them, and still go on with their daily lives. Some people might also feel that there is not much effect when I am the only person doing it, so they give up. But imagine every person refusing a plastic bag at the supemarket! This will save up tons of plastic being incinerated!
