Pangea
Alfred Wegener is known for his theory of continental drift, which proposed that Earth's continents were once joined together in a single supercontinent called Pangaea and have since drifted apart. This theory laid the foundation for the modern theory of plate tectonics.
Alfred Wegener named the super-continent he believed existed millions of years ago "Pangaea." He proposed the theory of continental drift which suggested that the continents were once all connected as one landmass before drifting apart.
Alfred Wegener proposed the theory of continental drift in the early 20th century, suggesting that continents were once connected and drifted apart over time. His theory was met with skepticism at the time but laid the foundation for the modern theory of plate tectonics. Wegener's ideas were supported by evidence such as the fit of continental coastlines and the distribution of fossils across continents.
Well, most modern day scientist believe in the theory of plate tectonics. Which states that in the beginning there was only one continent, or super-continent if you will, named Pangaea. Over time however the tectonic plates beneath Earth's surface shifted and separated the continent into the seven continents we know today.
Alfred wegeners theory of continental driftIs that once all the continents were all join as one massive land mass. (and split apart.)
it is the belief that once all the continents were 1 big continent called Pangaea
The continental drift theory is the theory that once all of the continents were joined in a super-continent, which scientists call Pangaea. Over a vast period of time, the continents drifted apart to their current locations.
The theory is is that once all the continents were connected as 1 super continent. Later they split up to create the 7 we know now.
Pangaea it was the supercontinent that supposedly consisted of all of the present continents combined...in theory they should all fit together like a puzzle
The theory is that there was a super continent called Pangea, meaning 'all lands'. It existed as one large continent but later broke up into several smaller continents which drifted away from wach other, each beuibg a part of a mobile plate of the lithosphere
The theory that we used to all be one big continent (Pangea) but drifted to where we are now over hundred of milllions of years
Pangea
africa Actually, all of them.
Pangea
Not at all. That it hasn't been proven is what makes it a theory. Once proven, it becomes a law.
Wegener's theory was that all continents were once connected and are slowly drifting around.
Alfred Wegener (Ve-ge-ner) is the man who created the Pangaea theory which is when all the continents were once one big continent. Pangaea is derived from the Latin word "pangeo" which means "all earth".
