Combustion (burning) of anything releases carbon dioxide, because just about everything contains large amounts of carbon. If what is burnt was recently grown, then it is only a minor problem, but when we burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), we release carbon that has been hidden away for 300 million years. This extra carbon dioxide is causing global warming. Global warming is causing climate change, which will cause adverse effects to crops, changing rainfall patterns, raising temperatures, causing desertification, droughts and famine, and putting coastal croplands under sea water permanently.

What effect does combustion have on global warming leading to adverse effect on crops?

Combustion has the effect of emitting carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide emissions should be released at a stable rate but human beings do it so much that the existing plants on earth cannot soak up all the carbon dioxide on their own.

which best describes climate change?

Climate change refers to the long-term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in a place. It is primarily driven by human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, leading to global warming and other adverse effects on ecosystems and societies.

What is a product of fossil fuel combustion that contributes to the green house effect?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a product of fossil fuel combustion that contributes significantly to the greenhouse effect. It is a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the Earth's atmosphere, leading to global warming and climate change.

What is a rise in the earth's surface temperature due to an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

This is known as global warming. The increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases traps heat in the atmosphere, leading to a rise in temperatures across the Earth's surface. This can cause adverse effects on ecosystems, weather patterns, and sea levels.

The effects of global warming will be most noticeable at?

The effects of global warming will be most noticeable at the Earth's polar regions, where temperatures are rising at a faster rate, leading to the rapid melting of ice caps and glaciers. This will result in rising sea levels, loss of habitat for polar animals, and disruptions to ecosystems.

it may not kill people but it has adverse effects on them

Why are CF C's destructive to the atmosphere?

CF4 and C2F6, which are known as CF Cs, are destructive to the atmosphere because they are potent greenhouse gases that can contribute to global warming. They have high global warming potentials and long atmospheric lifetimes, leading to their accumulation in the atmosphere and trapping heat. This can result in adverse effects on climate and ecosystems.

How does hole in this layer cause global warming and its adverse effects on life at earth?

The hole in the ozone layer allows more ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun to reach the Earth's surface, contributing to global warming. Increased UV exposure can harm organisms, leading to skin cancer in humans, reduced crop yields, and harm to marine life. It is important to address this issue to protect the environment and human health.

Fossil fuel combustion effects what natural cycle?

Fossil fuel combustion primarily affects the carbon cycle. When fossil fuels are burned, carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, contributing to the greenhouse effect and global warming. This disrupts the natural balance of carbon in the atmosphere, oceans, and land, leading to climate change and other environmental impacts.
