Chemical Weathering occurs in warm and humid regions. it involves four major processes namely;

a) Oxidation- the process in which the atmosperic oxygen reacts with the rock tp produce oxides.

b) Carbonation- the process by which various types of carbonates ar formed, some of which are soluble in water.

c) Hydration- the process by which water is absorbed by the minerals of the rock.

d) Solution- the process in which some of the minerals get dissolved in water. They are therefore removed in solution.
