Relief rainfall affects the west mostly with rainfall. This is because of the North Atlantic drift , hot air rises from above the north Atlantic drift and because of the southwesterly prevailing wind in Britain it is carried to the south west of England. When the hot air meet the hills in the Southwest the air is forced to go with the shape of the land and rise, and as it rises it cools and condenses into clouds and then the next step in the water Cycle is it falls.
