Sandbar
The firm ridge of sand that appears off the main shoreline due to ocean wave weathering is called a sandbar. Sandbars commonly form in shallow coastal areas where waves displace sand and create an elevated ridge above the water surface.
Mid-Ocean Ridge
The Indian Ocean has an upside-down Y-shaped divergent ridge known as the Southwest Indian Ridge. This ridge system is located in the southern part of the Indian Ocean basin and extends from the East African coast to Antarctica.
an oceanic ridge
Ridge push is a geological concept where the force of gravity causes oceanic lithosphere to move downhill from a mid-ocean ridge, pushing tectonic plates away from the ridge. This process contributes to plate motion along with other forces like slab pull and mantle convection.
