A cliff
The location on the surface of the earth immediately above the origin of a fault is called the "epicenter."
Fault-block mountains are created by tensional forces in the Earth's crust that cause blocks of rock to move up or down along faults. As these blocks move, they create a series of steep mountain ranges and valleys. This movement is typically associated with normal faults, where the hanging wall moves downward relative to the footwall.
A fault block mountain is formed when blocks of Earth's crust are uplifted and tilted along normal faults. As the blocks are pushed up and move past each other, they create a rugged mountain range with steep, uneven terrain. The movement along the faults causes one block to rise higher than the other, resulting in a mountain with a steep escarpment on one side and a gentler slope on the other.
A canyon is a deep valley with steep sides typically carved by a river over time, while a cliff is a vertical or nearly vertical rock face. Canyons are larger landforms that can stretch for miles, while cliffs are smaller, often found along coastlines or mountain edges.
A block of rock above a fault is called the hanging wall. In a fault, the hanging wall is the block of rock that is positioned above the fault plane, while the block below the fault is called the footwall.
a steep, high, wall of rock, earth, or ice.
A high, steep wall of rock is called a "cliff." Cliffs are vertical or near-vertical rock exposures that can be found along coastlines, mountainsides, or canyons. They are formed through various geological processes such as erosion, faulting, or volcanic activity. Cliffs can vary in height and are often popular for rock climbing and sightseeing due to their dramatic and picturesque appearance.
wall
scarp
Viewed from the top it is a precipice. Nut I don't think this word is ever used when viewing from the bottom of the cliff - as there is always a connotation of 'falling' involved with the use of the word.Another word could be "scarp"
To be more steep. We say "a steep slope" meaning the slope rises at a sharp angle, that is difficult to climb. A wall is steep because it goes straight up.
It is made of hard roasted lime brick blocks of rock and stones and other rocks and mineral type of things.
ROCK
It is mainly made of earth, rock and wood before modern day materials were used.
By definition, a narrow chasm with steep cliff walls is a canyon. Exceptionally narrow canyons are called "slot canyons".
