The things that surround us include the atmosphere (air), bodies of water (oceans, rivers), land (forests, mountains, plains), and various forms of vegetation (trees, plants). All these elements together make up the environment in which we live.
The body of water that surrounds the Great Barrier Reef is the Coral Sea.
The Gulf of Mexico surrounds Key West.
The Indian Ocean surrounds Christmas Island, an Australian external territory located in the eastern Indian Ocean.
Abiotic factors like sunlight can move into trees in a rainforest ecosystem through the process of photosynthesis, where trees absorb sunlight for energy. Another abiotic factor, like water, can move into trees through the roots, which absorb water and nutrients from the surrounding soil.

Water, usually. But, an "island" can be anything including a raised platform within a merchant store that is used for security/visibility concerns.
Raccoons are opportunistic feeders and may find their food anywhere, including in trees or water.
All plants, including trees get their water from the earth through their roots with just a few exceptions.

You do need to water trees.... If they are planted outside they may get enough water from the ground and precipitation but all living things require water.

The best things to make trees grow faster are sunlight and water. Some trees require more sunlight than others, and some trees don't need as much water as others.
