The main point concerning exponential growth is the constant birth rate. This will be good or bad depending on the resources available as the birth rate maintains a steady growth of the population.
Connecticut has few non-renewable resources other than Connecticut Bluestone (see related link below). Renewable resources in Connecticut include plentiful fresh water; many opportunities for hydroelectric power; game (deer, fowl such as turkeys and ducks, shellfish, herring); and timber.

Whether biological or geological, natural resources are found where they are because natural processes either placed them there or provide the conditions for them to be there.
If resources are limitless than a population's growth will be exponential. Growth will be logistic in cases where there are limited resources. As the population grows closer to the logistical limit, the overall growth will slow.
Yes, it is. Any kind of water whether it is impure or pure, water will always be a natural resource.
Population density is just a measure. Whether it represents over or under population depends on putting that information together with a lot of other information. Temperature measures heat; high temperature indicates fever. Also, while population density is objective, overpopulation can be highly subjective, depending on the variables you take into account. whether a place is overpopulated or underpopulated depends on both population and available resources. thus it is important to define what 'resources' are, and while population density may have some relationship with this, this is not reliable enough to be used as an 'indicator'.
