that is the bend in rock or the rock bed is not losing its complete cohesive force. when a fault is developed in the underlying units and only its affects are transferred in the upper unit, due to this flexure (bend) is developed in the stratum or strata. Later on, the previouly created flexure may be tranformed into a fault in the overlying units.
