Yes, the amount of water on earth is finite. That means it has limits. There is only a certain amount of it. But it's not finite the same way that other things, like money, is finite. If you have a finite amount of money, 20 dollars, and you spend it, then it's gone.

It's not the same with water. When we have "used" the water, then the sun shines on it, the evaporated water is perfectly clean again, it turns into clouds and floats over the country. The clouds become rain and fall to the ground where it runs into rivers and dams and the whole process starts again.

So in a way you could argue that there is a never-ending supply of water on the planet. It doesn't always fall in the right places, of course, and many countries are facing increasing drought conditions as a result of global warming.
